U.S. drones suspended flight to Djibouti

The dozen U.S. drones (Predator and Reaper) based at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti were banned from flying in the small republic in the Horn of Africa.
Local authorities took this decision after an incident that occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday.
A mechanical failure on landing - a "hard put" in aviation jargon - slightly damaged the RQ 1 (Predator). But more importantly, it has caused immobilization of the single runway airport, which is dual-use, civilian and military, including delaying Air France flights.
A US officer interviewed by Bruxelles2 confirmed this incident in words without trying too hard to extend meaning. Rather than a flight ban by local authorities, he prefers to speak of it as a precautionary measure, the classic case of an accident, the time to enlighten the circumstances of the crash, and provide additional security measures.
