Police Commissioner Ernest Quatre, police chief superintendent Godfra Hermitte, Robert Georges from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports, and other members of the negotiating team were present at the meeting.

Other than informing the families on the status of the ongoing negotiations, Mr Morgan reassured them that both men were still alive, according to the latest evidence received from Somalia.

The minister gave the families information on the progress to date and gave explanations following questions from the family members.

He reiterated the commitment of President James Michel and the government to secure the release of our two compatriots in the shortest possible time.

The minister confirmed that the negotiations were to be kept high on his agenda and that they would be kept abreast of any new developments.
