Mancham's Vision for Humanity Receives Worldwide Recognition

IT IS announced from the office of Seychelles’ founding President Sir James R. Mancham that Sir James has been discerned a Citizen of the Earth-XXI. This certificate dated 20th December, 2015 under the signature of Professor Evanghelos Moutsopoulos – Rector of the World Philosophical Forum and Socratic Philosophical School who is also a member of the Athens Academy of Sciences states -

“We hereby have the honour to certify that Sir James Richard Mancham has acquired all the necessary specific international and global civil knowledge and deserves the right to hold higher world status – a Citizen of the Earth-XXI. This status attests to the presence in a person’s mentality of wisdom, reason, morality, justice and global responsibility that qualifies them for work in all supranational organizations and state bodies, for activity in politics and economics as well as in everyday life.”Mancham's Certificate

Everyone on Earth, who has reason, morality and global responsibility, would not deny that the situation on the planet deteriorates with every passing month bringing the Humanity closer and closer to a worldwide catastrophe. World order becomes more and more without a proper order or with the worst variant of “order”.

Atomic Scientists, including 19 Nobel Laureates, insist that Earth now is closer to human-caused doomsday than it has been in more than 30 years because of global warming and nuclear weaponry.

According to their opinion, the probability of global catastrophe is very high, and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken soonest.

Today, unchecked climate change and a nuclear arms race resulting from modernization of huge arsenals pose extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued further existence of Humanity. And present “world” leaders have failed to act with the speed or on the scale required to protect Earth population from potential catastrophe. These failures of today's planet leadership endanger every person on Earth.

The main reason of the observable global deterioration is well known – it is the degradation of the average human mentality, which reflects in increase of individuals’ ignorance and lack in their minds of compulsory human, philosophical, and civil “ordinary” knowledge.

This degradation of human mentality raises the necessity to innovate the concept, purpose and content of common, but fist of all civic education according to the global era. To form a new human being with a global vision is necessary to inculcate a more sophisticated Universal Education on the planet – with philosophically oriented, modern, scientific, unified and uniform content.

Feeling this need and trying to improve the situation worldwide, UNESCO yet 10 years ago adopted its “Strategy on Philosophy” urging all to study true philosophical ideas and teachings at schools and universities. 8 years later, in September 2012, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared the new UN Global initiative “Education First”: to improve the quality of learning, to foster global citizenship, and to realize that “Education is more than literacy and numeracy – it is about citizenry.”

Following this UN initiative, UNESCO put it forward in its “Medium-Term Strategy for 2014 – 2021” appealing to foster inclusive, quality and lifelong learning opportunities for all and promote a sense of global citizenship.

Thus, the term global citizenship is being used since then more and more often, but little people know, what this term means in fact. For more information on World Philosophical Forum, see website – http://wpf-unesco.org .

At the moment, the World Philosophical Forum has as President, the Philosopher Dr. Igor I. Kondrashin, who is a member of the Russian Philosophical Society and the Russian Humanist Society, is an expert of the UNESCO. He is the author of fundamental books on theoretical and practical philosophy which includes (i) ‘Dialectics of Matter – Systematic approach to fundamentals of philosophy - ‘The equation ‘Development = motion in time – quality – space’ (ii) ‘The truth of being in the mirror of consciousness – Systematic approach to dialectics of mentality’ and (iii) ‘The code of secular behaviour – What to be to become a MAN?’

The Vice President of the World Philosophical Forum is none other than Professor Nicholas Hagger of the United Kingdom who was born in 1939 and read English Literature at Oxford. He lectured at universities in Iraq, Japan and Libya in 1960s. He wrote for The Times and taught in London. He acquired four schools and set up the Oak-Tree Group of Schools. He bought Otley Hall and for seven years ran it as an historic house. He is the author of 43 books covering such subjects as literary works, historical works, comparative religion, philosophy, international relations and statecraft and writings on culture.

Sir James has been invited to attend the first historical meeting of the World Philosophical Forum which is planned to take place on the 5-7 October, 2016 and he is being proposed to become an acting deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Humanity, when the election will take place for personalities to be elected to these posts. At the moment, Sir James is one of 50 personalities who have been discerned a Citizen of the Earth-XXI, The rest includes Professor Raoul Weiler – member of Board of Trustees of World Academy of Art & Science, Club of Rome European Chapter; Professor Adelino Cattani – University of Padua, Italy; Sreelekha Mishra - Scholar, thinker, UN Global Citizenship Education Program Supporter; Professor Jeffrey Levett – Public Health Management and International Health; Professor Eleonora Barkova – Professor of Economics of Moscow Plekhanov University; Souza Delasnieve Miranda Daspet – Lawyer, Poet, Writer, Ambassador of Peace, Activist Peace and Culture of Peace, Human Rights, Environment, Social, Brazil; Professor Federico Mayor Zaragoza – Scientist, scholar, politician, diplomat and poet – former Director General of UNESCO (1987-1999), Chairman of the Foundation for Culture of Peace, Honorary Chairman of the Académie de la Paix; Professor Negoslav Ostojic – Executive Director of the European Centre for Peace and Development (ECPD), Serbia.

“No doubt, this appointment as a Citizen of the Earth-XXI will constitute my best gift this Christmas. After all, at the end of the day, what is important is not so much the wealth you leave behind but the contribution you make to the surviving humanity. The battles we lost are those we refused to take part. A King is honoured at home but a wise man is worshipped everywhere,” Sir James said.
