Featuring 21 narratives and 12 documentaries from across the globe, the Spotlight section of TFF 2013 focuses on films that blur the lines between independent and mainstream filmmaking. A documentary on the Puntland Maritime Police Force premieres.
The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express®, is pleased to announce its Spotlight section, which is comprised of 33 films—21 narratives and 12 documentaries features— by both well-known filmmakers like Richard Linklater, Neil Jordan, Mira Nair, David Gordon Green, and Neil LaBute and promising new talent. Co-sponsored by Cadillac and JetBlue, the 12th edition of its festival set for April 17 to April 28 in New York City and offers 23 world premieres, a record number for the section, and advanced screenings from established and emerging filmmakers that display varied elements of independent and mainstream cinema.
In particular, 'The Project' profiles the precarious, real-life story of the Puntland Maritime Police Force, a group of Somali pirate hunters. Directed and written by Shawn Efran and Adam Ciralsky, has it's (USA) – World Premiere, Documentary
THE PROJECT
