"The Seychelles Islands Foundation is delighted to learn that founding President Sir James Mancham has been spearheading the cause of Aldabra recently on the National Geographic Explorer Orion. I am certain that his lecture has enlightened all listeners and enriched the programme of the cruise. I am a strong believer that it always makes a difference to learn of historic events by contemporary witnesses! Kindly pass our gratitude to Sir James Mancham and our kindest regards. Dr. Frauke Fleischer-Dogley Chief Executive Officer Seychelles Islands Foundation."

In a statement issued this morning from the National Geographic Orion, which is anchored off Curieuse Island at this time, Sir James said that his address was so well received that he has been invited to deliver second address this afternoon as the ship will be leaving Curieuse for La Digue.

Sir James said that Aldabra and the other outlying islands constitute an important dimension of the overall Seychelles archipelago, and that special attention must be given in consideration of all future development, which should take into account the Seychelles First policy in the national interest, and that he very much appreciated the letter of support and encouragement from Dr. Frauke Fleischer-Dogley.
